The Karrkad Kanjdji Trust was established by local elders to support the Warddeken and Djelk Indigenous Protected Areas in west Arnhem Land.

Located alongside Kakadu National Park and spanning over 2 million hectares, it represents one of Australia’s most unique and valuable landscapes.

Today, the Karrkad-Kanjdji Trust connects supporters with traditional owners who carry forth a legacy of 50,000 years of caring for the country, people and culture of west Arnhem Land.

In the short term, the Karrkad-Kanjdji Trust delivers direct benefits by incubating, delivering and handing over meaningful projects that have their genesis in the communities we support.

In the long term, the Karrkad-Kanjdji Trust is building an endowment designed to secure this valuable work in perpetuity.
